Swimbaits and UnderSpins are excellent baits for targeting bass that are feeding on baitfish. Swimbait hooks come in unweighted and weighted varieties, as well as the UnderSpin, a weighted swimbait hook with a spinning blade positioned beneath the bait to create added action and flash. Swimbaits are easy to fish, just cast them out, allow the bait to sink to the desired depth, and steadily reel them in. Twitches and pauses can be incorporated into the retrieve to entice strikes from bass that may be following the bait. Swimbaits and UnderSpins can be used as search baits on flats, points, dropoffs, grass/weed/pad edges, and most any other fishing areas. Weightless swimbait hooks can be paired with fluke style baits to twitch along and mimic an injured baitfish, or paired with soft plastic topwater baits to swim across the water's surface.
